Introduction

In the early summer of 1922. Felix Kendall has been in his new job for only a week when he finds himself tasked with solving the murder of his former college roommate, the All-American football star “Cracker” Jack Tate. Two weeks prior, Jack Tate had signed with the Chicago Cardinals, one of the teams in the newly formed National Football League.

Felix finds himself running out of leads and time to uncover the killer. The situation is further complicated by the fact that he is not a police detective, but a sports reporter.

Disclaimer

This novella is a work of fiction. The main character, Felix Kendell, along with several other characters, is entirely fictional. In this episode, I envisioned Felix meeting real historical figures. I incorporated these individuals and historical events to craft a ‘whodunnit’ mystery for the story.
